What Is Latanoprost 0.005% Eye Drop

Latanoprost 0.005 eye drop is a prescription ophthalmic solution. The active ingredient is latanoprost at a concentration of 0.005%. It is manufactured by Zydus. Each drop delivers a precise dose directly to the eye surface.

What Condition It Treats

Latanoprost 0.005% eye drop is used to reduce elevated intraocular pressure. This is the pressure inside the eye. It treats open-angle glaucoma and a condition called ocular hypertension. How to Use Latanoprost 0.005 Eye Drop

Wash your hands before applying the drop. Tilt your head back and pull the lower eyelid down gently. Place one drop into the pocket formed. Close your eye for one to two minutes after applying. Do not blink excessively or squeeze the eyelid. This pushes the drop out before it absorbs.

If you wear contact lenses, remove them before putting in the drop. Wait at least 15 minutes before putting the lenses back in. One drop per eye, once at night. That is the full dose. Do not apply more thinking it will work faster.

Missed Dose and Overdose
